Knitwear brand Leutton Postle have currently got a pop up shop in Hackney. The shop is selling one-off pieces and samples from their previous collections for bargain prices. The shop has been imaginatively decorated with a changing room and counter made out of Tesco boxes with a coat of white paint. You might not want to go into a changing room made of boxes but I wasn’t put off and was pleasantly surprised at the cardboard rail and shelves they had put inside, proving they had put in a lot of effort to make their pop up shop as welcoming and comfortable as possible. I hung the items on the card rail and slipped on a skirt- although I had to be discreet as the card door didn’t close properly because it had curled over at the corner. None the less, I tried on some of the lovely pieces on offer.

Most pieces are priced from about £45, for scarves and one-off hand painted t-shirts and £100 for the more popular dresses from the collections. One bag, a reverse appliqué leather bucket bag that I had loved since it came out was priced at about £360 and although that is better than half price (the bag was originally over £800) it was well out of my price range. I ended up buying a piece from the AW13 collection, a bronze and blue knitted skirt with pleats. It is a lovely skirt with polka dots going down the pleats and is not too thick so can be worn in summer. There were some great pieces from the summer 2014 collection but my favourite pieces were the crop tops and I just don’t wear them.
